As Seen On Socials: SIUE Welcome Weekend 2026

SIUE welcomed a record number of new Cougars to campus this month, kicking off the 2026-2027 academic year with Welcome Weekend, Aug. 21-23.

From New Student Convocation and the traditional parade to the Cougar Statue, to Cougars in the Community service projects, a silent disco under the lights, and the volleyball team's exhibition match, new and returning students packed campus with energy from morning to night. Highlights from the weekend are already lighting up SIUE's social media feeds.
